Abscess - the limited clump of pus in tissues, organs or the closed cavities, usually caused by a bacteriemic infection. Originators of an abscess of soft tissues are staphilococcuses, less often - streptococcuses is more often, at abscesses of other localizations character of flora depends on the reason of its occurrence and often has the admixed character.
Pathogenesis. Pyogenic microorganisms can get in a tissue exogenous (at the infected trauma - getting wound by unsterile object) or endogenous (immediately extending from the next infected areas, with a current of a blood or a lymph from the remote sites of an organism) ways. To formation of an abscess contribute: disturbance of protective mechanisms of an organism, presence of alien bodies, deterioration of permeability of cholic, urinary or respiratory ways; an ischemia or a necrosis of tissues, a clump of a blood or an exsudate in tissues; a trauma of tissues. The generated necrosis of tissues leads to a clump of an exsudate, formation of a cavity in which leucocytes accumulate, causing an abscess.
Clinical picture and complications. The general signs at abscesses correspond to displays of an intoxication from a characteristic temperature curve. Daily fluctuations of a body temperature have amplitude 1,5°С - 3°С, is frequent with tremendous cold fits and down-pour then.
Abscess appendicular - complication of destructive forms of an acute appendicitis (tap approximately in 2 % of all kinds of an acute appendicitis). The appendicular infiltrate which then or resolves under influence of conservative therapy, or, despite of corresponding treatment is originally formed, abscesses.
Signs, current. In the beginning of disease it is marked more or less expressed typical painful syndrome of an acute appendicitis.
