Botulism - a poisoning with the botulotoxin which has collected in foodstuff; it is characterized by a lesion of nervous system.
Etiology, pathogenesis. The originator - the clostridium of a botulism, forms disputes and very strong ectotoxin (a lethal dose for the person nearby 0,3 microgram). There are 7 antigenic types of the originator, the antitoxin against any type does not protect from influence of other types. Toxin is blasted at warming. Disputes maintain boiled water till 5 o'clock (at house conservation of products of spore are not destroyed). The botulotoxin which has got in a digestive tube is not blasted by enzymes, soaked up through a mucosa of a stomach and an intestine and hematogenically carried on all organism. At a botulism of thoracal children formation of toxins occurs in an intestine. Botulotoxin selectively amazes cholinergic departments of nervous system. The termination of allocation of Acetylcholinum in nervous synapses causes a paralysis of muscles. The paralysis of muscles of a larynx, pharynx, respiratory muscles leads to disturbance of a swallowing and respiration that promotes occurrence of the aspiration pneumonias caused by a secondary microflora.
