The edema of a larynx - meets as one of displays of an inflammatory or noninflammatory lesion of a larynx and is localized usually in places of a clump of a quaggy larynx under mucous fats (vestibular cords, a surface of an epiglottis from tongue). Can be limited or diffusive. The reasons: a trauma (mechanical, thermal, chemical) a mucosa of pharynx or a larynx, an allergy, acute infectious diseases, diseases of cardiovascular system and kidneys, a collateral edema at pathological changes in cervical lymph nodes, a thyroid gland, at inflammatory processes in a drink (a peritonsillar, parapharyngeal abscess, etc.); a phlegmon of a neck at acute, especially phlegmonous laryngitis, at neoplasms of a larynx.
