Helcoma - a becoming infected of the cornea damaged after a trauma microbes of a conjunctival bag, plaintive ways (especially at a dacryocystitis), and also the microbes which are being on a subject; disintegration of infiltration and its casting-off at a superficial keratitis.

Signs, current. A pain in an eye; a dacryagogue, a photophobia. The pericorneal or admixed injection of an eyeglobe. More or less deep defect of a tissue of a cornea with мутно-grey bottom and edges. The cornea around of a ulcer muddy also is slightly hydropic. In the beginning the small, round or oblong ulcer can extend in the further on an appreciable part of a cornea and accept the diversified outlines. The creeping ulcer of a cornea differs fast development. The progressing edge is loosened and surrounded by a stria of a purulent infiltrate, and opposite edge pure. From a limbus the vessels suitable to the nearest edge of a ulcer start to develop. On a place of a ulcer after an adhesion usually there is a proof opacification with dropping vision. Sometimes the ulcer gets into depth of a cornea that can lead to its perforation and infringement of an iris of the eye in a perforated aperture. At a cicatrization of such ulcer the leucoma soldered to an iris is formed. Under influence of an ophthalmotonus the leucoma can be stretched - the staphyloma of a cornea is formed.
