The hypertrophy of palatine tonsils - is quite often combined with adenoides. Meets more often at children's age as display of a hypertrophy of a lymphadenoid tissue of pharynx. With the years the hypertrophied tonsils can be exposed to an involution.
Signs, current. Disease is shown by disturbances of respiration, speech and passage of nutrition. As a result of presence of a mechanical obstacle there can be a reflex tussis at night, especially at children. These children hardly transfer a scarlatina, a diphtheria. It is characteristic, that the inflammatory phenomena in such tonsils at children, as a rule, is not present.
