Hypogonadism - the pathological condition caused by insufficient secretion of androgens or depression of sensitivity to them.
Etiology. The congenital underdevelopment of sexual glands, toxic, infectious, their radial lesion matter.
Pathogenesis - depression of secretion of sexual hormones by testicles. At a primary hypogonadism immediately testicular tissue is amazed, at secondary - the hypofunction of sexual glands arises owing to a lesion of system of a hypothalamus and a pituitary body (a tumour, a neuroinfection, etc.) with depression of gonadotrophic function of a pituitary body.
Signs, current. Clinical displays depend on age in which there was a disease, and degrees of an androgenic failure. At a lesion of testicles before puberty the typical eunuchoid syndrome develops, elongation of extremities, a underdevelopment of a thorax and a shoulder girdle are marked high disproportionate body height owing to delay of ossification of epiphyseal zones of body height. The sceletal musculation is developed weakly, the hypodermic fatty tissue is distributed on female type. The true gynecomastia is frequent. Integuments acyanotic. Weak development of secondary sexual attributes: absence of a pilosis on the face and a body (on a pubis - on female type), a underdevelopment of a larynx, a high voice. At a secondary hypogonadism, except for signs of an androgenic failure, the obesity is often observed, signs of a hypofunction of other glands of internal secretion - thyroid, cortexes of adrenals (result of abaissement of hormones of a pituitary body) are frequent. The symptomatology of a panhypopituitarism can be observed. The sexual inclination and a potency are absent. If abaissement of function of testicles has occured after puberty when sexual development and formation of osteal and muscular system are already finished, signs of disease are expressed less. Decrease of testicles, depression of a pilosis of the face and a body, a thinning of a skin and loss of its elastance, development of an obesity on female type, disturbance of sexual functions, sterility are characteristic.
