Light ophthalmia (photo-ophthalmia) - a combustion of a conjunctiva, a cornea and a mesh environment at influence on eyes of very bright light.
Signs. In 6-8 hours after influence of light there is an acute pain in opinion of, a nictitating spasm, a dacryagogue. The conjunctiva is a little bit hydropic, the pericorneal injection is sometimes taped. The cornea is dimmy. Pupils are narrowed, reaction to light flaccid. Lesions of a mesh environment are localized usually in the field of yellow maculae and lead to appreciable dropping of vision and occurrence of the central scotoma. In fresh cases at an ophthalmoscopy the easy edema of a mesh environment, in later stages - the punctual yellowish centers with a pigmentation is visible.
