Obstruction of the central vein of a retina - closing of a lumen of the central vein of a retina or its branches owing to a clottage or thickenings of intima of a vessel.
Signs. Veins of a retina are dilated, arteries are narrowed, on a background of a hydropic tissue of a retina set of the hemorrhages extending radially on a course of veins. The optic disk is swelled, its borders are indistinct. Visual acuity gradually decreases. At a clottage of branches of the central vein of change are expressed less and on a site of a lesion. In due course hemorrhages resolve, in macular area there are slices of a pigment. Development of a secondary glaucoma is possible.
