Otomycosis - the disease caused by development on walls of external acoustical passage (sometimes and on a tympanic membrane) mushrooms of various kinds. It is promoted by the wet medium, a previous purulent average otitis, long irrational application of antibiotics, etc.
Signs, current. A pain, an itch in acoustical passage, a hypersensibility of a skin of acoustical passage and an auricle, a headache on the party of the amazed ear, hum in an ear, sensation of completeness of an ear. At survey of an ear acoustical passage is narrowed on all extent. The discharge of acoustical passage in most cases moderated, can have various painting (grey-black, black-brown, yellowish or greenish) and depends on a kind of the mushroom which has caused disease; it, as a rule, has no smell. Sometimes the aperture in a tympanic membrane (result only is visible to a fungic infection without involving in process of a middle ear). In rare cases pathological process can extend for limits of external acoustical passage and even an external ear (a skin of the face, a neck). After clinical convalescence relapses of disease can be observed.
