PULPITIS

Pulpitis - an inflammation of a pulp of the tooth, shown attacks of a pain.

Etiology. A microflora of a carious cavity, chemical, mechanical and thermal traumas.

The pathogenesis is bound to advance of carious process and inflammatory reaction to a microflora and a trauma of a pulp. The becoming infected through an apical aperture is possible, for example at illnesses of a periodontium.

Signs, current. A spontaneous paroxysmal pain, especially at night, provoked by mechanical, chemical and temperature stimuluses. At serous forms in the beginning of disease attacks of a pain, are infrequent and short-term, in process of advance of process they become frequent and extended. At a purulent pulpitis attacks long, throbbing pains accrue. At a serous pulpitis the cold causes a painful attack, and at purulent - stops it. At chronic forms of a pulpitis typical painful attacks arise mainly during exacerbations.

The forecast. At absence of treatment - a necrosis of a pulp and diffusion of process on nearby apical tissues. At treatment, as a rule, an outcome favorable.

Prophylaxis - well-timed treatment of caries of a teeth.
