The heart failure - the clinical syndrome caused by disturbance of pump function of heart which leads to disability of a myocardium to satisfy metabolic needs of tissues; display and consequence of the diseases amazing a myocardium or complicating work of heart: ischemic illness of heart, an arterial hypertensia, heart diseases, diffusive diseases of lungs, a myocarditis, cardiomyopathies (including alcoholic), etc.

Pathogenesis. Disease of cardiovascular system leads to depression of intimate emission and, in reply to it, to activation of the adaptive reactions referred on maintenance of a blood flow in the vital organs (a tachycardia, narrowing of vessels). In particular, decrease of quantity of impulses from arterial and cardiopulmonary receptors on a feedback mechanism raises activity of system; pump function of heart thus raises due to augmentation of frequency and force of intimate reductions, clinically it is shown by a tachycardia. However in the further the quantity and sensitivity of receptors in heart decreases, and it ceases to react to catecholamins adequately.
