Trachoma - a chronic infectious disease of a conjunctiva.
Etiology, pathogenesis: an atypical virus of a psittacosis - lymphogranulomas of a trachoma. Infection occurs by carry separated with a sick conjunctiva on healthy arms or through the polluted subjects.
Signs. Disease bilateral, usually begins imperceptibly, was seldom acutely. For 1 stage the general infiltration of a conjunctiva, occurrence in it, especially in the field of a transitive cord, set of follicles and papillary growths are characteristic. In 2 stages there is a degeneration and disintegration of follicles, formation in a conjunctiva of fine cicatrixes. In 3 stages the widespread cicatrization of a conjunctiva is observed at conservation of infiltration and follicles, in 4 stages - the finished cicatrization of a conjunctiva. Simultaneously with a lesion of a conjunctiva the pannus develops: the top limbus has punctual infiltrates which sprout vessels, merge and form an opacification moving ahead from top to bottom. The intensive cicatrization of a conjunctiva and change of cartilages of blepharons conduct to narrowing a conjunctival cavity, a torsion of blepharons, wrong body height of eyelashes - to a trichiasis, a desiccation of an eye.
